Witham Cottage is a charming riverside holiday cottage in the Lincolnshire countryside for just two to share. It's the self-contained annexe to a classic Georgian farmhouse lived in by your hosts, Kathy and Alan. Dating back more than 100 years, the building has been used by earlier owners as a wood store and an animal shed before being transformed into the charming Witham Cottage, welcoming self-catering guests since 2010.
The main living space is open plan. A large leather sofa welcomes you whilst the kitchen is perfectly equipped to create a delicious meal. Step down into the bright bedroom with windows looking over the gardens and pamper yourself in the sparkling ensuite shower room.
Witham Cottage nestles in pretty gardens alongside the peaceful River Witham which guests are welcome to enjoy. The riverbank supported a steam railway until the 1960s and, in the mid-1800s, was briefly the fastest route north to Scotland. The rails have long gone and the riverbank is now a haven for wildlife with birds in abundance and even our very shy local family of deer.
With no streetlights to spoil the night, an evening in the garden at Witham Cottage creates an incredible display of stars in the vast sky as dusk turns to dark - the perfect place to end the day.
